Join us at the Ocean Institute!

Saturday, July 24th at 10:30 AM, Dana Point – Join the author, Derek Sabori for a morning of storytelling, light eco-lessons and creative insight. Derek will break down the story behind the story and engage the kids in the idea of seeing a problem and tackling it by way of book writing. The Earth Bugs were born from the act of battling the Litter Bugs and the hope is that kids will be inspired to tell an Earth Bug story of their own. There will be coloring and eco-crafts for the younger children and an author/publisher focused build your own book project for the older kids.

Inside the Outdoors Community Calendar

This is an amazing program that works mostly with kids to get them out and into nature as part of their school curriculum. Their headquarters is out at Rancho Sonado in Silverado Canyon, and if you’ve been out there you know how roots that place is.

Check out their community calendar as there are some cool workshops and events (like an Earth Bug reading and nature walk and Astronomy & Stargazing Family Hike) that are open to the community. Some are there on site, some are at other locales in the area. Either way, it’s worth checking out! Be sure to come out and join us in December for a reading & signing! A Pirate Party for a Cause

Join us for our son’s 5 year Birthday Party. Sure it was a Pirate Party, but we did what we could do make it an eco-party for a cause! We reduced, re-used AND recycled. Additionally, this was a 1 gift party (1 gift from us) – all gifts were in the form of donations that went to a selected Shark conservation & education organization (per the B-Day boy!). Check out IEMANY.org to learn more about them.
